Secure Wordpress - Am I Scaring You?

I have had two WordPress blogs hacked into in the past. That was at a time when I was doing very little internet marketing, and until I found time to address the situation (months later), these sites were penalised in the search engines. They were not removed, but the rankings were reduced.

I back up my blogs using a free plugin WP DB Backup. I will restore my website to the last 13, if anything happens. I use my blog to be scanned by WP Security Scan plugin and WordPress Firewall to block suspicious-looking requests to fix wordpress malware fix.

Don't make the mistake of believing that your hosting company will have your back these details as far as WordPress backups go. Not always. While they say that they do, it has been look at this now my experience that the company may or may not be doing proper backups. Why take that kind of chance?

Exclude pages - This plugin websites adds a checkbox,"include this page in menus", which is checked by default. If you uncheck it, the page won't appear in any listings of webpages (which includes, and is ordinarily limited to, your webpage navigation menus).

Now we are getting into things. Whenever you install WordPress, you have to edit the document config-sample.php and rename it to config.php. You want to set up the database details there.

Don't use wp_. Web hosting providers are eliminating that default but if yours does not, fix wp_ to anything but that.
